World's Largest EtchASketch Comes to SIGGRAPH 2006

Boston; The world's largest EtchASketch made its debut at SIGGRAPH 2006, the 33rd International Conference and Exhibition on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques, going on now in Boston.
Officially endorsed by The Ohio Art Company, the installation is presented as part of an interactive and highly entertaining event before the curtain rises on the SIGGRAPH 2006 Electronic Theater several times daily during the annual industry event. The Computer Animation Festival, a showplace for the latest and most innovative animation films of the year, is compromised of the Electronic Theater and the Animation Theaters.

The EtchASketch technology enables audience members to control (in real time) the two famous EtchASketch drawing knobs and use them interactively on the main projection screen. The audience also has the ability to "shake" the screen clean and start again with a blank canvas.

"Pushing boundaries and achieving significant results in any profession generally involves collaboration across different company departments, teams, or organizations," says Terrence Masson the SIGGRAPH 2006 Computer Animation Festival Chair from Digital Fauxtography Inc. (who developed the idea). "This type of collaboration is a key component of SIGGRAPH and the EtchASketch game is a great demonstration of how a common goal can focus people to work together while having a tremendous time."

The SIGGRAPH 2006 Computer Animation Festival features approximately 100 films and videos by some of the world's most creative scientists, animators, VFX specialists, educators, studios, and students.
