3Dconnexion's Support for 64-Bit Computing Enhances Interaction with Large Datasets

Business Wire (July 25, 2006)

SAN JOSE, Calif., Jul 25, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- As part of the company's commitment to pioneering the human-computer interface for design professionals, 3Dconnexion(R), a Logitech company, today announced its latest 3DxSoftware release, which includes support for professional graphics applications that leverage 64-bit CPU architecture. 3Dconnexion's navigation input devices (also known as 3D motion controllers), including SpacePilot(R), SpaceTraveler(TM), and SpaceBall(R), deliver productivity enhancements as well as improved performance and rapid response times when combined with advanced 64-bit hardware and software tools. This new level of support will be featured at SIGGRAPH '06, July 30 through August 3 at the Boston Convention Center, where 3Dconnexion's award-winning products will be featured in the Guerilla Studio and the company's booth #2306.

"We're pleased to see that 3Dconnexion is among the early supporters of 64-bit technology, so when new applications and CPU upgrades become available, customers who use them with 3Dconnexion's input devices will won't suffer any interruption in their workflow," said Dr. Jon Peddie, president of Jon Peddie Research, located in Tiburon, California. "3Dconnexion's 64-bit support contributes to the designer's ability to get the most from the power that the 64-bit architecture provides for working with data-intensive applications such as 3D animation and CAD."

"Our strategy to support advanced computing platforms is consistent with our technology leadership commitment: to help design professionals strengthen the link between mind and machine, using the best human interface tools to help solve challenging problems," said Rory Dooley, president, 3Dconnexion. "We are proud to have excellent relationships with the innovative software companies that offer products that currently support x64, including SolidWorks, UGS NX, Dassault Systemes CATIA, and SOFTIMAGE/XSI."

The latest version of 3Dconnexion driver software for Windows XP 64-bit and 32-bit is now available for downloading at www.3dconnexion.com/support/.

3Dconnexion Navigation Devices Improve Design and Modeling Productivity

3Dconnexion's intelligent navigation input devices for visual computing provide design professionals with improvements in the way they work. Unlike those who work with only a mouse and keyboard, designers who use a 3Dconnexion navigation device can pan, zoom, and rotate their 3D models and scenes while simultaneously editing and annotating with the mouse.
