DVS Presents SpycerBox Central Media Hub at IBC

Amsterdam - During IBC 2009, DVS unveils SpycerBox Ultra with new features. DVS doubled the former capacity of SpycerBox to 48TB which postproduction houses can use as a central NAS (Network Attached Storage) or as a complete SAN (Storage Area Network), says a company representative.
Increased bandwidth is now available as well, further positioning the SpycerBox Ultra as a versatile storage solution. Post production companies and broadcasters will be able to seamlessly integrate SpycerBox Ultra as a NAS version into their existing storage architecture, thanks to the number of supported high-speed interfaces.

Configured as a SAN, SpycerBox Ultra unites both image data and metadata storage in a five HU chassis only. The central media hub provides the opportunity to configure it as a complete SAN system and proves to be a very fast and cost-efficient storage solution.

Expanding several units of SpycerBox Ultra to a cluster solution additionally increases its capacity and bandwidth. The expansion reinforces the media hub’s versatility and flexibility which can be customized for the individual customer’s requirements.

The numerous interface options allow for a trouble-free integration: along with the high-speed interfaces Infiniband, 10GB/s Ethernet and 8 Gbit Fibre Channel, the user can connect via GigE, eSATA, FireWire, and USB.

DVS is a manufacturer of high-quality hardware and software for the digital film and video postproduction, broadcast, presentation, and event markets.
